Run for Light

May 14, 2013 - At a recent Board of Directors meeting it was decided that due to the increasing cost, staff and volunteer time commitment and the fluctuation in revenue from the run due to weather dependence and the number of other recreational opportunities available in Vancouver, the association has determined that we need to ensure we put our resources into physical activity programs for British Columbians who are blind or visually impaired. We have therefore determined that we will not hold a Run for Light in 2013. BC Blind Sports will explore other options for events in the future.

BC Blind Sports thanks our supporters, volunteers, staff, donors, participants and the community who have contributed to the Run over the past 33 years.

Run for Light 2012

The 32nd annual Run for Light Fun Run took place on Friday May 25th 2012 in Stanley Park at Lumberman’s Arch. Hundreds of runners and walkers came out on a beautiful Friday night and looked great with their glow in the dark t-shirts and glow sticks. Thank you to all of the participants, volunteers, and community sponsors who make this event a success year after year.

On Friday May 27th join us at Lumbermen’s Arch in Stanley Park to celebrate our 31st annual Run for Light fun run. We are looking forward to seeing all you who have joined us over the past 31 years to celebrate and promote our run and BC Blind Sports. If this will be your first time coming out we welcome you and know you will have a great time.

Run for Light 2010

The 30th annual Run for Light took place at Lumberman’s Arch, Stanley Park on Friday, May 28, 2010. Thanks to all participants, supporters and our volunteers for a wonderful event.

2009 Annual Run for Light - Summary

The 29th annual Run for Light Fun Run was held on Friday, May 29, 2009 in Stanley Park. What a great night for the Run, we had great weather for the approximately 1000 participants. What better way to spend a Friday evening than by the ocean supporting BC Blind Sports!
Thank you to all participants, volunteers, community partners and our sponsors, for your tremendous support. See you next year!

Approximately 1000 participants and volunteers arrived at dusk on a beautiful Friday night in Stanley Park to participate in the 28th annual Run for Light Fun Run, May 30, 2008. Thank you to our volunteers, sponsors and community partners who contributed to the success of this event.
