impaired lawn bowlers in Nanaimo this week.There were 8 competitors from
Langley, Ladner, Coquitlam, Burnaby, Victoria and Nanaimo competing in
a round robin of 7 games.

September 8th 2008 (Courtenay, BC) - Canadian Blind Sports 2008 National Lawn Bowls Championships were held under sunny skies at the Courtenay Lawn Bowling Club, on Vancouver Island B.C. between September 2 – 5th. Twenty-five Lawn Bowlers from Alberta, BC, and Ontario competed in both men’s and women’s divisions of all three of the official International Blind Federation (IBSA) sight classes.
Canadian Blind Sports thanks BC Blind Sports and the members of Courtenay
LBC for the superb job they did in hosting this event – the greens
were in fantastic shape, all of the volunteers markers were well-trained
and did an excellent job, and all of the bowlers were well fed throughout
the week as well.
Jane D. Blaine, Executive Director of Canadian Blind Sports announced
that the 2009 Canadian Blind Sports National Lawn Bowls Championships
have been awarded to Alberta.
Congratulations to all the medallists and participants, and a special thank you to all of the volunteers and directors who made the event possible.

2005 World Blind Bowls Championships, South Africa
Canada won a silver medal in Women's B1 event, in South
Africa at the World Blind Bowls Championships. Canadians finished 5th
in Women's B2; and 8th in Women's B3. On the Men's side, Canada finished
7th in B3 Men, and 8th in the B2 Men's event. Competing in the pairs events,
Canada finished 5th in B2 and 7th in the B3 pairs. To go to the full results

2004 CBSA National Bowls Championships
BC Blind Sports was proud to host the Canadian Blind Sports Association
(CBSA) 2004 National Lawn Bowls Championships. There were thirty-one bowlers
representing five provinces, which included QC, ON, SK, AB and BC. These
championships were the qualifying event for the 2005 International Blind
Bowls Association Championships which will be held in South Africa, April
3-15, 2005.
Thank you to all the volunteers who dedicated their valuable time and and expertise to make this event a success. They include tournament organizers, markers and the members of the West Point Grey Lawn Bowling Club.
