Karate2009 Island OpenRandy Kruzeniski followed up his 2 world titles at Karate Super Grands 2008 in December with 3 silver medals at the Island Open in Victoria, B.C. held on Feb. 28, 2009. Randy, who has recently turned 50 years of age, won a silver medal in the 18 year and over karate forms division. Then won a silver medal in the 18 year and over creative weapons division. Randy finished the day winning a silver medal in the 18 year and over traditional weapons division. 2008 World Super Games: Karate and KobodoRandy Kruzeniski competed at the 2008 World Super Games in Karate and Kobodo(weapons) in Sacramento December 26 -31. He received a 1st and 3rd in Kobudo and received a 1st and 8th place finish in Karate forms. It's been an eventful year for Randy and he is starting 2009 off at the Island Open in Victoria at the end of February. Randy sends a big thanks to Andy Pruim and Tashushotowa Karate in New Westminster for their excellent training and support in getting him this far. Western Canada Martial Arts TournamentRandy Kruzeniski participated in the Western Canada Martial Arts Tournament, held at BCIT, October 18, 2008. Entered in four events in Karate forms and Kobudo forms (traditional weapons), he won 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze for the day. The next stop is the Super World Grands in Sacramento in December of this year. Randy says it's been a rewarding 2008 in the martial arts area having picked up 9 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze in four tournaments. However the biggest challenge will come in Sacramento in December.
